Looking to turn your home into a smart home filled with tech that automates things? Here are some ways that you can utilize smart home automation to make life easier.

Wake-Up Routines

There are a ton of ways that you can make your morning wake-up routine go smoothly with automation. This can include programming lights so that they slowly get brighter as your wake-up time approaches, or even having automatic shades open and let in the natural light.

Pressure sensors are a great way to actually activate your morning routine in ways you may not have thought of. This is done by placing the pressure sensor underneath your mattress on the side where you normally sleep. When you get off the mattress, it can activate routines automatically for you. For example, you can have your smart speaker read you the weather for the day so you get dressed appropriately.

NFC Activated Routines

Sometimes there are routines that you do not do at a set time each day. It could be something like wanting to sit down and relax and watch a movie, or maybe turning off distractions so that you can do some reading. It's possible to activate these routines with NFC tags. They can be placed anywhere, and all you need to do is tap your phone on the tag and it will start a routine through your smartphone. You program the tag to do whatever you want, and it only happens when you take the action to start it.

In the movie example, you can create an NFC tag that starts a routine where the lights turn off, the TV turns on, and your shades close. This can all be done by placing your phone next to a simple NFC tag that takes care of it all for you.

Exit Routines

There are several things that you have to do when you leave the home, and you can use automation to take care of them for you. You can tie something as simple as activating an alarm system or locking a door into a routine that does other things. You may want to set the thermostat to a certain level when you're away, turn off all the lights in your home, and have the system alert you if any windows are open thanks to window sensors.

These are just a few examples of ways that you can automate your home with technology.
